Gluten Tag! That's the national day of wheat in Germany...
...Anyway folks here's another write of this past week's shows. Tons of awesome stuff, so click some links and check it out!
6/21/17 - Small Axe // See Through Dresses // Wipeout // Think Tank
Wednesday opened up with a phenomenal set of ambient drone music by NY's Think Tank followed by See Through Dresses from Omaha who performed a fantastic set of lush and spacey dream-pop reminiscent of The Cure. The dynamic duo Wipeout took the stage for some crunchy electro-punk and Small Axe's Alex Homan closed things out with a excellent set of ambient loop jams.

6/22/17 - Grace Vonderkuhn // Gozer // Plake 64 & The Hexagrams
Alex Homan returned on Thursday to open the show with another unique set of looped n sampled jams (It was actually Alex's third time Downsquares that week!). DE's Gozer provided the loud and fun with their set of indie-punk, and Grace Vonderkuhn is just awesome! Seriously if you get a chance to see Grace and her band DO IT!!! They're fucking good, and it's some of the coolest stuff I've seen in the pizza basement EVER! They closed the show with their power trio indie-fuzz jams, and I hope they come back to Baltimore real soon!

6/23/17 - The High & Wides
Friday we had another double show, opening with folky bluegrass outfit The High & Wides who romped and stomped for a few hours to a packed house. Excellent band and I had a great time working with them!
The High & Wides
6/23/17 - Lady Bits // Basic Bitches // KnifeCrime
The second show kicked off with NY based riot-girl squad Lady Bits, who smashed and bashed their way through an excellent punk performance before Jersey's Basic Bitches took the stage to shred and sheik through a killer set of garage-punk n' roll. Baltimore's KnifeCrime ended the show with a guitars\/ drum tag-team that sent the crowd home happy.

6/24/17 - Cosmic Halitosis // Ryan's Acoustic Riot // The Meer // Velella Valhalla
Saturday's show opened with the excellent Cosmic Halitosis and their high-energy pop-punk jams. Ryan's Acoustic Riot hit the stage and harked back to the golden age of late 90's pop-punk anthems. The Meer made their anticipated return to the pizza basement to play their special brand of melodic sludge, and Velella Halhalla ended things with a mighty set of female-fronted power-punk.

As a bonus I stopped by 13.5% in Hampden on Sunday to catch Kerra Holtgren: The Swedish Fist perform some uke-based folk jams, and to play the Kerr-Oke Fist-A-Cup Punch Prize game! If you haven't gotten a chance to see this new game get your butt to the next show, it's a hoot!

Alright that's it for me, tune in next week and... oh you get the idea. I'll be back to talk more music next week, later!
